How to use the age calculator

Pick your date of birth. The calculator shows your exact age today in years, months and days, plus your age in total months, weeks and days, and how many days are left until your next birthday. To find your age on a specific date, such as the cut-off date for a school, a job or a government ID application, change Age as of.

The second calculator counts the days between any two dates, including business days that exclude weekends. It is handy for counting leave days, deadlines, notice periods and loan terms.

Worked example

Ana was born on June 12, 1995. On October 22, 2026, she is 31 years, 4 months and 10 days old: 31 full years brings us to June 12, 2026, 4 more months to October 12, 2026, then 10 more days. She has lived 11,455 days in total. Her next birthday is Saturday, June 12, 2027, which is 233 days away.

For the date difference: from Monday, October 5 to Friday, October 30, 2026 is 25 calendar days. With the end date included, it is 26 days, of which 20 are business days (four full Monday-to-Friday weeks) and 6 are weekend days.

Leap years and February 29

A leap year has 366 days, with February 29 added every four years (except century years not divisible by 400, so 2000 was a leap year but 1900 was not). The calculator uses the real calendar, so every leap day is counted. If you were born on February 29, your birthday falls on February 28 in non-leap years in this calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How is exact age computed?

The calculator counts the full years since your birth date, then the full months after your last birthday, then the remaining days. Leap years and the different lengths of months are handled automatically.

What if I was born on February 29?

In non-leap years, this calculator treats February 28 as your birthday, so you turn a year older on February 28. Some people celebrate on March 1 instead, and the rule differs between countries for legal purposes. In leap years, your birthday is February 29 as usual.

Does the business day count skip holidays?

No. It only skips Saturdays and Sundays, because holidays change every year and differ by region and company. Subtract the regular and special non-working holidays that fall within your dates if you need an exact working-day count.

Should I include the end date?

It depends on what you are counting. For “how many days until” questions, leave it off. For things like leave applications or hotel-style counts where both the first and last day count, turn it on to add one day.

Is my birth date sent anywhere?

No. Everything is computed in your browser. Your dates are never sent to us or saved on a server.
